The Role

This is a pivotal role supporting our finance and commercial teams by providing efficient and effective Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) solutions. As a lead model builder, you will drive the development, maintenance, and integration of financial and non-financial models within the Center of Excellence (CoE), ensuring our systems are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Development & Modeling: Lead the end-to-end process of building and maintaining complex Pigment models for the Finance function, adhering to best practices. This includes supporting the transition of existing models from Anaplan to Pigment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Conduct thorough requirements gathering and manage stakeholder needs to ensure models fully meet business objectives and specifications.
  • Data Integration: Establish and maintain robust data integrations, specifically building connections from AWS into Pigment, in close collaboration with the Technology team.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Oversee testing, support with writing comprehensive test scripts, and ensure all models are fit for purpose, making necessary changes and rolling them forward accurately each financial year.
  • Team & CoE Support: Collaborating with the Project Manager and providing coaching and mentorship to an Assistant Model Builder.
  • End-User Support & Change Management: Support end-users with training and change management as they transition to and utilise the Pigment models across finance and non-finance departments.
About you

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Model Building Expertise: Proven experience in Anaplan or Pigment model building, ideally within a Finance or FP&A environment.
  • Project Experience: History of working on Finance projects, including writing requirements and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Autonomy & Drive: Readiness to take ownership, drive change, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.

Desired Skills & Mindset

  • Qualified Accountant: CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • &A Systems Knowledge: Level 1 or Level 2 Anaplan Model Builder certification is preferred (training will be provided) or Pigment equivalent.
  • Problem-Solving: A 'can-do' mindset and a proven ability to thrive as a problem solver in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Influencing Skills: Confidence to challenge and the ability to influence and gain buy-in from a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex financials in a simple, understandable way.
  • Resilience: Adaptability and resilience to navigate a business that is evolving and growing.
  • Ownership: A strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering results.
