A well-regarded legal firm in London is looking for a Legal Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic finance team. In this hybrid role, you'll support the Finance Director and help manage client accounts, performing key financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in legal accounts and a strong understanding of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and VAT regulations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor client accounts, checking receipts, and updating fee earners.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations (client and office accounts).
  • Process BACS, CHAPS, and international transfers.

Legal Accounts Assistant (Legal Cashier) – London | Hybrid Working

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a busy Accounts Department within a well regarded Legal 500 firm. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Finance Director and legal teams, working as part of a highly organised and dynamic finance function.

The firm operates a hybrid working model, typically requiring 2 to 3 days per week in the office, with remaining days worked from home. This is an excellent role for someone seeking to develop their career within a supportive and growing team. While accountancy qualifications are not essential, property experience is required .

  • Daily bank reconciliations (client and office accounts)
  • Ensuring compliance with firm policies and SARs
  • Processing BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments & international transfers
  • Posting transactions to the case management system
  • Managing office receipts, payments, and client-to-office transfers
  • Assisting with aged debt management
  • Processing bills and uploading disbursements
  • Supporting finance-related projects (inactive matters, residual balances, file storage)
  • Maintaining organised electronic financial records
  • Resolving account queries and liaising with fee earners regarding ledger balances
