Job summary

John Lewis & Partners is hiring a Technician Specialist to install products and service customers at their homes as part of a two-person delivery crew operating a 7.5-tonne vehicle. You will coach fellow drivers, load deliveries with warehouse support, and ensure a safe, courteous customer experience from start to finish.

Heavy lifting is involved, with early start times on a rotational schedule. Evening and Night premium rates apply after hours. Closing date is 26 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC or Driver Qualification Card by day one, and Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with customer service as a top priority.
• Coach and develop delivery drivers on home installations and customer service.
• Assist with loading the lorry with daily deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Show respect for customers' homes and handle issues to find the best solution.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate operation after installation.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at best.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
