We are seeking an experienced andmotivated Senior Finance Business Partner to join the Finance Team at BarnsleyHospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a senior leadership role withinthe Finance Team, providing high-quality financial leadership and support to aClinical Business Unit (CBU). You will act as a trusted advisor to seniorclinical and operational leaders, supporting strategic decision-making,financial planning, performance management and the delivery of sustainablefinancial performance.

Working in a complex and fast-pacedenvironment, you will lead on financial reporting, forecasting, businessplanning, investment appraisal and cost improvement programmes. You willcollaborate closely with clinicians, operational managers, information analystsand colleagues across the Finance function to ensure resources are usedeffectively to support high-quality patient care.

This role is ideal for a CCAB-qualifiedfinance professional with strong business partnering experience, excellentcommunication skills and the confidence to influence at senior level. Main duties of the job

The Senior FinanceBusiness Partner is responsible for leading the financial management andperformance reporting for an assigned Clinical Business Unit. The post holderwill provide expert financial advice, analysis and insight to supportoperational and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilitiesinclude leading the development of financial plans, budgets and forecasts;monitoring income and expenditure; identifying risks and opportunities; andsupporting the delivery of cost improvement programmes. The role involvesinterpreting complex financial and operational data and presenting clear,meaningful information to senior clinical and non-finance colleagues.

The post holder willcontribute to business planning, investment appraisal, service redesign and thedevelopment of business cases, ensuring compliance with financial governanceand regulatory requirements. They will work closely with Information Analyststo ensure performance information is accurate, timely and fit for purpose.

As a senior memberof the Finance team, the post holder will provide professional leadership,support the development of finance staff, promote continuous improvement andcontribute to the overall effectiveness and strategic direction of the Financefunction.

  • Excellent technical accountancy skills, in depth specialist knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

Experience

  • Extensive post qualification experience in a complex or highly pressurised environment
  • Experience in presenting complex financial information and insight to non finance staff.
  • Experience in developing robust income and Expenditure forecasts and supporting financial decision making
  • Supporting service redesign, cost improvement programmes and investment appraisal
  • Private Sector or large Business Unit finance role
  • Evidence of developing quality assurance systems / processes
Knowledge and Awareness
  • Knowledge of financial and management accounting underpinned by theory and experience
  • Knowledge of legislation and accounting procedures which impact on financial and management accounts
  • Ability to read, digest and interpret highly complex documents including National legislation, Department of Health policies, guidance and agreements
  • Ability to learn new information, procedures and processes in a limited time period e.g. familiarise oneself with a complex protocol in order to accurately cost a clinical service
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality requirements and financial governance
  • Awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
