Job summary

Nextech Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join its Cheshire-based team. The role blends remote troubleshooting with client-site work, offering exposure to installations and broader IT projects.

You will handle 2nd line tickets, diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, and troubleshoot TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, firewalls and routing while advancing toward Microsoft certifications.

Qualifications

Role requires hands-on 2nd line IT support experience.
Experience in MSP or IT services environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and networking.
Comfort with on-site visits and remote support.

Responsibilities

Provide primarily 2nd line IT support across a varied customer base.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and infrastructure issues.
Deliver support both remotely and at client sites.
Work across Microsoft technologies, networking and virtualization.
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN including TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.
Support firewalls, routing and general networking issues.
Assist with installations, upgrades and technical projects.
Maintain clear communication with customers throughout incidents.
