A healthcare provider in Barnsley is seeking a Chemotherapy Verification Technician responsible for the coordination of Intravenous Chemotherapy Clinics. This role requires significant experience in a Hospital Aseptic Setting and entails liaising with clinical teams, preparing chemotherapy treatments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Applicants must hold NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy services and GPhC Registration, with excellent organizational and communication skills. Our inclusive and diverse Pharmacydepartment has a strong clinical presence in all areas. We have an establishment of over 100 members and enjoy an excellent reputation within the Trust where we provide patient-centred clinical Pharmacy services to some 400beds across medical, surgical and specialist areas as well as a number of outpatient clinics. We are innovative and forward-thinking and have invested in a host of technical improvements, including robotics and state of the art dispensaries and technical services. The department is noted to be very friendly, and is constantly looking to develop and expand. This is an exciting time at Barnsley Hospital with the recent implementation of electronic prescribing bringing excellent opportunities for further innovation and service development.

If you are a self-motivated and forward-thinking individual and would like to play an integral part in pharmacy service developments we have the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to be responsible for the coordination and production of the Intravenous Chemotherapy Clinics. You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills managing staff, problem solving skills to resolve stock ordering issues and communication skills to liaise with the day units and wards regarding patients and their treatment. You will be integral to supply and preparation of other bespoke aseptic medicinal products, such as biologics and parenteral nutrition, to the trust. Due to recent exciting developments, the post holder will contribute to the Trust’s expanding portfolio of clinical trials and will play an active role in the preparation, supply, and governance of investigational medicinal products (IMPs), ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory frameworks.
You will be responsible for the coordination and production of the Intravenous Chemotherapy Clinics (including those provided for Weston Park Hospital outreach clinics). Which includes things such as liaising with the Chemotherapy team to ensure that the clinics run efficiently and safely and in a timely manner, co‑ordinate and participate in the production and preparation of the IV Chemotherapy and resolve stock discrepancies and action drug alerts.
