A government agency in Birmingham is seeking a middle manager to oversee a cluster of Approved Premises. This role involves leadership, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and equality policies. The candidate must have significant experience in management and performance monitoring. The position allows for some remote work and requires strong communication skills in English. This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity in public service management.
This is a management role, working as part of the Midlands Approved Premises Senior Management Team, as one of four Approved Premises Area Managers (APAMs). The role is challenging and rewarding, and would be suitable for existing middle managers and in particular, those with experience or knowledge of Approved Premises. Reporting to the Head of Public Protection (Residential), the post holder will be responsible for managing a cluster of approximately five Approved Premises and will also hold a number of lead roles.
The existing vacancy is for one of our West Midlands clusters, but final location will need to be agreed with the successful applicant. The post holder will be based at an office location or Approved Premises in either West or East Midlands. APAMs need to maintain a visible presence in their sites, but there is scope for some home-based working. Please note that in addition to the current full-time permanent vacancy, this campaign will be used to create a 12-month merit list, that may be utilised to fulfil future permanent, full-time/ part-time, loans or fixed term roles.
This is a management role reporting to the Head of Public Protection, responsible for managing a cluster of Approved Premises (AP) within a Division.
To provide management and leadership within the National Probation Service (NPS) with responsibility for resources, the strategic direction and operational management of a cluster of Approved Premises.
To offer support and cover to other AP Clusters during periods of absence.
To participate in the out of hours Senior Management on call rota.
To represent the Deputy Director or Head of Public Protection for Approved Premises with external stakeholders and other staff.
