Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar childcare/education role.
• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in EYFS or nursery.
• Patient, calm and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexible and proactive attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Support early learning, play-based activities and classroom routines.
• Help the child develop communication, social and independence skills.
• Encourage engagement and participation alongside peers.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Adapt activities to meet the child's needs and follow SEN strategies.
• Work with the class teacher and SEN team to monitor progress.
• Share observations with relevant staff.
