Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in the PR5 area is seeking a caring and dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school from September. You will provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, helping them settle, develop routines and access learning.

You will work with the class teacher, SENCO and school team to offer nurturing support throughout the day, build confidence and independence, and foster positive relationships with peers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN/additional needs.
• Experience in an EYFS or primary school setting.
• Patient, calm, nurturing and consistent.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with young children.
• Supports a child's transition into school.
• Supports communication, social, emotional and learning needs.
• Passionate about helping children develop confidence and independence.
• Compassionate, resilient and committed to making a positive difference.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to provide consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day.
• Provide 1:1 support to the child with SEN to help them settle into school life and access learning.
• Help the child develop positive routines and stay engaged with peers during lessons and activities.
• Support the child's social, emotional development and independence within the classroom.
