Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in the North West is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception pupil in a caring primary school in Wigan. The successful candidate will work closely with the EYFS team to deliver tailored activities that promote inclusion and access to learning.

The role is full-time, five days per week, starting September, with a daily rate of £99. Experience with autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs is valued, along with Level 2 or 3 TA qualifications and

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or Speech & Language difficulties).
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and sensory-based learning.
• Resilience, empathy and a genuine desire to help every child succeed.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure and safeguarding checks will apply.

Responsibilities

• Individualised Support: Implement tasks from the child’s IEP or EHCP.
• Social & Emotional Development: Support social interactions and emotional regulation.
• Communication Support: Use visual aids to explain routines.
• Personalised Learning: Break down instructions into sensory-friendly activities.
• Collaboration: Work with the Class Teacher, SENCO and external therapists.
