Allergan Aesthetics an AbbVie Company is recruiting a Medical Advisor / Medical Science Liaison reporting to the Medical Affairs Associate Director for our Aesthetics division in France.
You are ideally based in i) Paris France; ii) Brussels Belgium; or in iii) Amsterdam The Netherlands.
By joining our company you will work with the Medical Affairs team in ensuring that Allergan Aesthetics an AbbVie Company successfully supports and leads the market with respect to medical / scientific engagement interactions and that Allergan is successful in the positioning of its portfolio of products vs. competitors.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Support the development of and review of the content of promotional material. Ensure the medical / scientific content is correct and fully compliant with AbbVie's internal policies and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with all applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie's policies and procedures, and accepted standards of best practice.
Provide in-depth clinical and scientific information relating to Allergan products to internal staff and on demand to external customers.
Maintain an understanding of AA products and relevant therapeutics across the portfolio.
Sustain professional and credible relationships with national KOLs / academic centers and ensure that the medical value messages on the products / areas of therapeutic interest are conveyed. Identify topics of interest among healthcare professionals and work with collaborative clinical groups to define Medical / scientific programs and activities, including conducting Advisory Boards where appropriate.
Responsible for screening of investigator-led study proposals and managing requests in line with Allergan SOPs.
Maintain understanding of International, EU, and national legal regulatory ethical requirements for the conduct of clinical research.
Provide support to national investigators participating in Allergan sponsored studies as appropriate.
Propose a medical strategy within the Brand Team providing expert medical input within the Brand Team and, according to local resources and regulations, build brand-aligned Medical activities.
Collaborate in the development of the Brand medical strategy as defined in the Brand Plan together with the defined functions as per plan.
The Medical Advisor will provide support to the local Brand team and country manager to provide clinical insight, technical expertise, and scientific insight to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Provide scientific support and assistance to country management as required to support business needs.
Assist in internal and external training events.
Advise speakers for congresses, symposia, and other events to spread and enhance scientific knowledge.
Support creation and delivery of scientific training and materials.
Our Medical Affairs team is looking for a candidate with a Medical Degree, Pharmacy degree, or bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or higher degree (PhD). Knowledge, skills, and qualities required are:
You are fluent in French, English, and Dutch.
You have a great interest in dermatology with experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and general knowledge on drug development and clinical research being an advantage. Experience in Aesthetics would be appreciated but not essential.
You are good at identifying opportunities and taking action to build strong scientifically based relationships with opinion leaders.
You have excellent communication skills and presentation skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present scientific data in a balanced and compelling fashion. Ability to adapt complex scientific knowledge to easily understood language for different audiences.
You have the ability to plan and execute multiple complex projects and maintain relationships; therefore, need to be resilient self-starters who are focused on completing a task.
You are good at understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
You can work in a fast, dynamic, multicultural, and matrix structure; adjust readily.
You are driven by results, high energy, maturity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to overcome obstacles.

From a practical point of view and daily work life: we are currently located in Rungis; however, AbbVie France will be relocating to 11 Bd de la République, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt by the end of 2025. The new premises along the Seine will host the France and Europe teams, both therapeutic and aesthetics, in two newly renovated seven-story buildings within a campus of four buildings.
Each floor will be equipped with meeting rooms and relaxation areas to promote collaboration and informal exchanges. The premises will also have outdoor spaces including a green inner courtyard and a private rooftop with a view of the Seine exclusively for AbbVie employees.
