Job Description

The Senior Manager for Laboratory Products Consumables and Equipment in EMEA is responsible for portfolio growth, achieving revenue and sales targets, and managing resources. Reporting to the Regional Senior Director Sales, the role involves building relationships with key customers, ensuring effective sales and service, and attracting and retaining Technical Sales Specialists. Key functions include delivering strategic business goals, collaborating with marketing and sales teams, and implementing business plans to achieve objectives, including growth initiatives and new product introductions.

Major Responsibilities

This individual’s responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Scope out the short and long-term strategic and operating plans for the portfolio.
  • Implement the commercial strategies, ensuring alignment with the global and regional plans.
  • Ensure alignment across the Regional Commercial Sales, Service, Marketing, Channel teams for consistency with strategy & tactical plans.
  • Through Technical Sales Specialists, advise on the process of selling Laboratory Product Division’s Equipment and Consumables and services to customers and prospects in all market segments.
  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities for growth – Engage in business development for new technologies or market segments.
  • Ensure a financially sound operation with confirmed corporate governance and compliance.
  • Handle the business’s budget appropriately.
  • Partner with other members of the team, globally and in the region, to implement cross-functional strategies for accelerated growth.
  • Monitor market intelligence and stay ahead of competition, economics, and the regulatory environment.
  • Lead a technically savvy team, hire, empower, and retain staff, to build a successful team.
  • Work with Planner, BU, to lead demand and improve allocation process.
  • Develop new team structure to address market change and deliver the company goals and results.

Other key relationships: Regional District Managers, Technical Sales Specialist Managers, and Commercial Managers

  • Proficient in strategic and tactical thinking about the business, developing actionable business plans and demonstrating to Region team members how to achieve those plans.
  • Strong analytical and business planning skills.
  • Outstanding professional presence and business insight.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills to engage diverse customer audiences and internal functions.
  • Strong capability to communicate effectively with all customer types across functions and at all levels to interact with business, acquire resources, and achieve desired results.
  • Ability to function effectively with a team with strong team building skills and the ability to resolve issues.
