IXO is seeking experienced Spanish tutors to conduct one-to-one lessons for native English speakers. Sessions emphasize accessible language, responsive teaching, and meaningful exchanges, with recordings used for IXO learning data.

You will lead lessons at diverse proficiency levels, adapt pacing and questions, encourage learners to speak, and maintain a reliable schedule. Sessions are remote and generally 20–30 minutes.

Your work at IXO

Conduct one-to-one Spanish lessons that show how experienced tutors guide real learners. The work emphasizes responsive teaching: choosing accessible language, noticing when a learner needs support and encouraging meaningful exchanges rather than rehearsed dialogue. Sessions are recorded for the agreed IXO learning-data work.

• Encourage the learner to speak, ask questions and respond naturally.
• Use listening and conversational exercises to sustain useful back-and-forth interaction.
• Keep the session on topic and reduce extended pauses without taking over the conversation.
• Attend scheduled appointments reliably and follow the recording instructions.

Qualifications

You must be fluent in Spanish, hold a bachelor's degree or higher, and have at least three years of Spanish teaching or tutoring experience. Experience teaching native English-speaking learners across proficiency levels is required.

You should communicate clearly, adjust lessons to individual needs and maintain a dependable schedule.

Comfort with recorded online teaching is necessary.

Tutors from Spain, Mexico and other Spanish-speaking backgrounds are welcome; no single national accent is made a universal requirement.

Outputs and working pattern

Your contribution is a completed, focused tutoring session that follows the lesson brief and demonstrates authentic teaching interaction. Sessions last at least 20 minutes, generally 20–30 minutes. The indicative plan is three weeks, with approximately seven hours per week of scheduled remote sessions. IXO will agree the actual scope and calendar before work starts.

Pay is $65 $70/hr (USD). Recording and usage arrangements will be provided before participation. Use appropriate learning examples and avoid disclosing confidential workplace information or private records. The application should describe your teaching experience without including recordings or information belonging to former students.
