IXO Labs seeks an experienced ESL educator to build language-learning scenarios across proficiency levels, explaining and correcting learner responses. You will develop tasks from beginner literacy through academic English, write reference answers with instructional reasoning, and assess proficiency.

Work is remote and asynchronous with flexible hours and clear deliverables. Deliverables include scenario briefs, reference responses, evaluation criteria and model-output reviews.

Qualifications

• Two years of classroom or online ESL teaching experience.
• Expertise in lesson planning, correction and proficiency assessment.
• Clear written English and availability for at least ten hours per week.

Your work at IXO

Build IXO language-learning scenarios across proficiency levels, showing how an explanation, correction or exercise fits the learner.

Responsibilities

• Develop tasks from beginner literacy through academic English.
• Write reference answers explaining the instructional reasoning and relevant evidence.
• Check error correction, proficiency assessment and whether an explanation would confuse the learner.
• Grade generated material against explicit criteria and explain consequential errors.
• Refine the scenario and rubric so another educator can apply the same standard.

Required experience and preparation

TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certification, or a state ESL teaching license, plus two years of classroom or online ESL teaching and expertise in lesson planning, correction and proficiency assessment. Clear written English and availability for at least ten hours per week are required.

Preferred experience

Multiple ages or proficiency levels, IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge preparation, or curriculum and materials development.

Deliverables and engagement

Deliverables include scenario briefs, reference responses, evaluation criteria and documented model-output reviews. Work is remote and asynchronous; IXO will agree the scope and schedule before assignments begin.

Pay is $40 $75/hr in USD. IXO will agree the scope, deliverables and schedule before work begins.
