Job summary

Joko is seeking a Head of People Operations to build the operational backbone that enables rapid headcount growth across France, Spain, and the US. You will report to the VP People and lead a small but growing team to design scalable processes with reliability and compliance at the core.

You will own HRIS, payroll, contracts, benefits, and onboarding end-to-end, while driving AI-powered automation and data-driven reporting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in People Operations or HR, including team leadership, in high-growth tech startups.
• Builder mindset: stood up or rebuilt a People Ops function.
• Deep knowledge of French payroll and labor law; exposure to Spanish or US matters is a plus.
• Strong data mindset and systems thinking; owns HRIS and employee data.
• Fluent in French and English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the People Ops team across France, Spain, and the US.
• Own core processes: payroll, contracts, benefits, time off, and onboarding.
• Plan for scale: country playbooks and workforce reporting for planning and reviews.
• Own HRIS and data; automate with AI and BizOps support; improve employee experiences.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and audits; prepare documentation for due diligence.
• Deliver a human employee experience with clear, accessible policies and reliable processes.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and Workplace Management for aligned operations.
