IXO is seeking a philosopher to build and critique ethical arguments, reconstruct premises, and document reasoning for expert review. You will craft reference answers with clear inferential steps and explicit objections, judging validity and soundness against opposing positions.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced philosophy degree, strong written English, and availability for at least ten hours weekly, with focus areas in ethics, epistemology, logic, or political philosophy.

Required experience and preparation

An advanced degree in philosophy or a closely related discipline and at least two years of relevant teaching, research or published philosophical work are required. Bring depth in an area such as ethics, epistemology, logic, philosophy of mind or political philosophy, clear written English and availability for at least ten hours per week.

Preferred experience

A PhD, peer-reviewed work, formal logic or decision theory, or applied ethics experience.

Deliverables and engagement

Deliverables include specialist scenarios, reference analyses, evaluation criteria and evidence-based feedback. The work is remote and asynchronous, with the particular scope and schedule agreed before work.

Pay is $55 - $105/hr in USD. IXO will agree the scope, deliverables and schedule before work begins.
