ixolabs.ai is seeking software engineers for remote, short-to-medium assignments that test your ability to scope and deliver practical features. You will work on the programming stack relevant to the task, ensuring correctness and maintainability through well-tested code and clear communication.

You will debug, refactor, optimize, and participate in reviews, and you will document APIs and architectural decisions so another engineer can reproduce and reason about the work.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional software work or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's or equivalent practical experience in computing/software.
• Ability to independently scope and deliver features with sound algorithms and data structures.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate software tasks that require independent, practical implementation skill. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Scope and deliver well-tested features or fixes in the programming stack relevant to the assignment.
• Debug, refactor or optimize code and participate in reviews that improve correctness and maintainability.
• Document APIs, architecture and implementation decisions so the work can be understood and reproduced by another engineer.

Required background and routes

• One to three years of professional-equivalent software work, a relevant computing/software bachelor's or equivalent practical experience, and proficiency in a modern language/ecosystem.
• Independently scope and deliver features or fixes, using sound algorithms, data structures and system-design reasoning.

Preferred background

• Work across stack layers, Git/CI collaboration, cloud deployments, substantive personal projects or open-source contributions.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 10–20 hours per week depending on the track. Indicative assignment lengths include 2–3 weeks. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.

Pay and working terms

$55 • $105/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
