Senior Underwriter M&A Tax – based in either Madrid/Spain or Milan/Italy

Senior Underwriter M&A Tax:

• Independent underwriting review of tax insurance submissions.
• Drafting, negotiation and administrative processing of policy documentation.
• Development of deep client and broker relationships to drive regional growth in the product.
• Positioning and marketing of AIG tax products in the European market through presentations, articles and events.
• Work closely with the global tax insurance team to ensure consistency of appetite and underwriting.
• Foster close links with internal colleagues (for example, claims) to drive optimal outcomes across underwriting and claims.
• Ad hoc support for W&I underwriters on tax aspects of W&I coverage as required.

What we are looking for:

• Excellent university degree in law or economics with a focus on tax law.
• Several years of professional experience in an international commercial law firm or Big 4 accounting firm.
• Qualification as tax consultant or specialized in tax law.
• Technical expertise on tax issues and M&A transactions.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Independent legal and commercial negotiation of policies in conjunction with legal advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, grasp complex concepts quickly and demonstrate resilience under pressure.
• Very good MS-Office knowledge.
• Willingness to travel and to market AIG tax insurance product.
• Excellent communication skills in English and either Spanish or Italian.
