QBE is seeking a Compliance Manager in Madrid to support compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to legal requirements. The role involves providing expert advice, developing policies, and collaborating with stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in compliance within the insurance sector, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to integrity and confidentiality.

  • Support the Head of Compliance in implementing the Compliance Action Plan.
  • Monitor and maintain knowledge of relevant EU and local legal requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and training on compliance with legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies to support compliance requirements.
  • Act as Compliance contact point with local regulatory bodies.

Compliance Manager Spain

Your new role

  • Support the Head of Compliance and the department in implementing the Compliance Action Plan and integrating key objectives and priorities as required for QBE SA / NV Spanish branch.
  • Monitor and maintain detailed knowledge and analysis of relevant EU and local legal regulatory and sectorial requirements impacting QBE Europe and its Spanish branch.
  • Provide expert advice and training to the business on interpretation / impact / compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain policies guidance and processes to support the business meeting its compliance requirements.
  • Perform Compliance risk identification and assessment and related controls reviews.
  • Provide regular report to the Head of Compliance and other local or European stakeholders.
  • Take part in transversal project work on local or European topics.
  • Actively collaborate with other control and key functions. Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the risk dashboards and other governance and solvency documentation.
  • Act as Compliance contact point with the local regulatory bodies and ensure regulatory processes are being effectively carried out.
  • Collaborate effectively with Global Compliance Teams.

  • Impeccable personal and professional conduct integrity and propriety incumbent to the Compliance role
  • Able to maintain confidentiality analytical and detail oriented
  • Previous experience in compliance in the insurance industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Flexible approach and ability to recognise and adapt to changing business requirements
  • English working proficiency
