Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a remote Technical Service Specialist for Surgical Robotics to support the Hugo robotic system and DS1 in EMEA. The role requires strong engineering credentials and multilingual communication with healthcare professionals, start-up specialists, and field service engineers.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, drive escalations, and contribute to continuous improvements while coordinating with cross‑functional teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in (biomedical/electrical/mechanical) engineering with relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2+ years experience, or a medical degree with technical skills.
• Fluency in Portuguese, English and Italian (C1/C2).
• Experience with robotics or motion control in large capital equipment.
• Highly organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Experience with analysing technical issues and software troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for the Hugo system and DS1 to HCP, SUS and FSE; act as technical liaison between stakeholders and operating unit.
• Drive escalation to resolve issues and initiate field service when needed.
• Collaborate with other specialists to troubleshoot complex service requests.
• Perform technical activities requiring judgment and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure all documentation and system entries are complete promptly.
• Focus on remote support with occasional onsite training domestically and internationally.
• Work hours 8:00–16:30 CET; on-call 7 AM–7 PM with rotating coverage.
