Job summary

Ethos is seeking a Financial Controller for a rapidly expanding multinational with a strong base in Barcelona. This is a fully remote leadership position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Spain while overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring financial compliance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, and provide strategic financial insights to senior management, coordinating with audits and driving system improvements to support growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting/finance, with a senior controller role.
• Proven experience with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
• Expertise in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting/Finance; CPA/ACCA preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls to improve efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team and coordinate external audits.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support business decisions.
• Implement and manage financial systems and software.
