Job summary

Rayner is seeking a highly motivated Surgical Equipment Specialist to promote and sell the Sophi Phaco system across Iberia, focusing on hospitals and clinics. This field-based role requires deep cataract procedure knowledge and proven medical equipment sales experience.

You will train customers, lead live OR demonstrations, prepare quotations, and identify cross-selling opportunities while traveling across the territory. Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese and English (B2+) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or marketing.
• Proven track record in surgical equipment sales.
• Proven track record in ophthalmology sales.
• Strong understanding of cataract surgery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel and spend several weeks demonstrating the Sophi range in the O.R.
• Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese, and business proficiency (B2 or higher) in English.
• Clean driver’s license and ability to cover a large territory.

Responsibilities

• Promote, demonstrate and sell Sophi Phaco machines to healthcare facilities.
• Build relationships with key decision makers and pursue new business opportunities.
• Educate customers on features and benefits of the Sophi range.
• Prepare quotations and offerings; coordinate pricing strategies.
• Lead wetlabs and on-site demonstrations; perform live OR demonstrations.
• Provide first-line technical support and MDR-related surveillance.
• Attend conferences and trade shows as required.
