Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Field Sales Representative to join our FMCG client. The role covers the Queenstown and broader Eastern Cape region, driving sales by building strong relationships with retail customers and ensuring product visibility, availability and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in field sales, excellent communication and negotiation skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel regularly.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent; tertiary in Sales/Marketing/Business advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years in field sales, FMCG preferred.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills.
• Strong sales principles and CRM familiarity.
• Ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks.
• Reside near Queenstown or willing to relocate.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with sales reporting tools.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, results-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business and drive sales within assigned territory.
• Develop and maintain relationships with store managers and staff for optimal placement.
• Promote and sell FMCG product range; highlight features and benefits.
• Ensure in-store execution, merchandising, and brand visibility.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets; report market intelligence.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve inquiries promptly.
• Manage inventory and territory expenses; travel for meetings.
• Participate in sales meetings and promotional events.
• Maintain accurate sales records.
