General Information

    Qualifications, experience and skills
    Essential
    • a bachelor’s degree or higher in modern languages or translation;
    • a mastery‑level (C2) command of Irish and an advanced (C1) command of English, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
    Desired
    • a master’s degree (completed or in the final stages of completion) in modern languages or translation;
    • familiarity with computer‑assisted translation tools;
    • experience of translating English texts into Irish;
    • an intermediate (B1) command of another official EU language;
    • an interest in financial and economic affairs.

    Further information

    Initial traineeship of between 3 and 6 months, with a possible extension to up to 12 months in total.

    Applicants who have completed university courses on translation from English into Irish are encouraged to provide a list of these courses, together with the grades achieved, and/or a letter of recommendation from aαγ relevant supervisor or faculty member. These documents should be in Irish or English.

    The recruitment process for this position will include a remote written exercise in the pre‑selection phase and – if you are invited to participate in the subsequent selection phase – an online interview.
