Job summary

ABB is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to deliver high-quality technical support to customers in a hybrid role based in Mannheim. You will diagnose issues, analyze logs, and use remote diagnostics to provide fast, reliable solutions while strengthening customer relationships.

The role requires 5+ years in process automation, deep knowledge of ABB products (AC800M, Freelance, AC500, Symphony Plus Melody), and fluency in German and English. Willingness to travel up to 5% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process automation.
• Excellent communication in German (negotiation level) and English (fluent).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal and external customers, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues via log analysis and remote diagnostics.
• Build technical expertise across ABB’s DCS and automation product portfolio.
• Contribute to customer satisfaction and retention through high-quality support.
• Participate in remote on-call services outside standard hours.
