Job summary

ABB AG in Mannheim is seeking a Field Service Engineer for drive technology. You will identify errors, commission and maintain ABB frequency converters, and support customers as the first point of contact on site, with a focus on reliability and service quality.

Travel is required within southern/central Germany and beyond occasionally; the role is hybrid with on-site visits and remote support. Fluent German and good English are expected, and you will join a motivated team committed to building

Qualifications

• Vocational technical training in electrical engineering/mechatronics or electronics technician training.
• Initial professional experience welcomed; newcomers considered.
• Knowledge in drive technology.
• Confident, customer-oriented demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Identify errors and malfunctions and initiate countermeasures.
• Perform commissioning and maintenance of systems.
• Execute and monitor service orders, and conduct root cause analyses in warranty cases.
• Participate in modernization projects for drive systems.
• Be on call for emergency services.
