A leading aerospace company in Manching is looking for a System Safety Engineer to support aircraft development safety. The successful candidate will conduct safety assessments and risk analyses, manage safety requirements, and influence aircraft architecture development. A Bachelor or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering is required, along with experience in the engineering field and knowledge of aircraft systems. Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a System Safety Engineer (d/f/m) to support the Aircraft Development Safety Manching team. You will ensure that Airbus products are developed, designed, produced and supported according to the state-of-art and the relevant safety standards (associated to airworthiness regulations). Safety of the vehicle is maintained throughout its whole lifecycle, considering Human Factors and operation.
Conduct main Safety assessments (Functional Hazard Assessment/System Safety Assessment) activities for military aircraft and systems, supporting the phases until certification
Conduct Risk Analyses, according to the applicable guidance and standards, which are required to support the continuous aircraft development (including Permit to Fly/Type Certificate)
Conduct Common-Cause Analyses (Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mod e Analysis)
Manage and generate safety requirements, safety evidences (tests, simulation, analyses), Safety Procedures and Limitations, interface with other technical domains (processes, maintenance, human factors, aircraft performance and quality, etc.)
Strong influence on aircraft/systems architecture development according to the required Safety/Integrity
Act as interface at the required level with internal and external stakeholders (Chief Engineering, Project Management, Design Teams, Airworthiness Authorities, Industrial Partners, Customers, Suppliers)
Review, approval and application of supplier data regarding Safety and Reliability
Bachelor or Masters degree of Aerospace Engineering, Physical Science or similar discipline
Minimum 3 years working experience in Engineering related field
Knowledge/understanding of Aircraft systems
System Safety Assessment experience would be an advantage, at least System Engineering experience with interface to Safety Assessment/Airworthiness/Certification
Advanced skills with MS Office are presumed
Good communication skills and strong problem solving capability are desirable
Experience with Safety Tools, e.g. Isograph FaultTree+
Very good English language skills, German language is desirable
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.
