Overview

Strategic Intelligence Analyst (all genders) in Berlin. At Lufthansa Innovation Hub, we accelerate the NEXT in travel. Founded in Berlin over a decade ago, we bring together entrepreneurial minds and jointly lead progress in shaping the future of the travel industry. By continuously expanding our footprint in the ecosystem, we actively shape industry conversations and secure valuable partnerships and innovation opportunities.

The NEXT in travel is built today: With focus, ambition, and purpose, we develop solutions to drive and enable (y)our innovation agenda.

Strategic Intelligence Team

Within LIH, the Strategic Intelligence team provides the research foundation for this mission. We deliver data-driven insights, ecosystem analysis, and strategic foresight to support both internal decision-making and external relevance. We also run TNMT.com, our public research platform, which helps define the travel and mobility tech (TNMT) narrative through evidence-based analysis and storytelling.

Our research covers a wide range of topics and methods. These include themes from aviation technology hype cycles, startup funding trends, and AI adoption, to long-term traveler behavior shifts. We combine market data, tech indicators (such as patents and scientific publications), and media sentiment to cut through the noise and spotlight the signals that matter.

Role

We’re now hiring a Strategic Intelligence Analyst (m/f/d) to help expand our research capabilities and scale our impact. In this role, you will work on deep, often ambiguous research questions that require both analytical sharpness and conceptual thinking. You will translate your findings into tailored strategy briefings, TNMT publications, and workshop inputs for stakeholders inside and outside the Lufthansa Group.

This is not a passive desk research role. You will be actively involved in shaping direction, co-driving strategy sessions, and presenting insights in internal and external engagements. Your work will contribute directly to the innovation agenda of one of the most complex and dynamic industries.

Responsibilities
  • Research & Synthesize. Scope strategically relevant questions; harvest and link quantitative signals (funding, patents, traffic, sentiment, performance metrics) into clear, defensible data-driven insight. Keep methods and outputs tidy in our ResearchOps stack so work is transparent, repeatable, and scalable.
  • Activate & Scale. Convert those insights into impact: craft crisp narratives (TNMT.com articles, strategy briefs, exec decks), design and run workshops and stakeholder sessions, engage external audiences, and embed recommendations across LIH and Lufthansa Group initiatives. Iterate formats that make intelligence products monetisable and measurable.

Profile — must-haves:

  • 3-6 years of experience in strategic research, market intelligence, consulting, or a related analytical field.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex, open-ended research questions.
  • Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data sources to develop clear, data-driven insights.
  • Familiarity with trend frameworks and tools (e.g. Trend Radar) and the ability to use them to track long-term developments in technologies, markets, and business models.
  • Proven experience contributing to strategy workshops, foresight exercises, or broader innovation processes.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (C1 level); able to translate complex findings into structured, actionable narratives and present them clearly to diverse audiences. Additional language skills (particularly German) are a plus.
  • Strong skills in presenting insights, moderating workshops, and leading discussions, with a proactive, engaging communication style.
  • High proficiency in using modern research tools and a passion for experimenting with AI technologies to explore new angles, formats, and insight generation methods.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to navigate ambiguity while delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strongly values constructive feedback, excels in providing thoughtful input, and enjoys actively sparring on new ideas and diverse topics to drive innovation and enrich discussions.

Profile — nice-to-have:

  • Background in or exposure to aviation, mobility, technology, or sustainability-related domains.
  • Experience working in startup environments, corporate innovation units, or ecosystem-focused research roles.
  • Strong data visualization skills and the ability to present insights through dashboards, visuals, or interactive formats.
  • Familiarity with technical research methods such as patent analysis, scientific publication tracking, monitoring funding and financial data, or natural language processing.

What we offer:

  • Be an essential member of a smart, hard-working and constantly growing team developing solutions for the traveller of tomorrow with one of the most iconic brands in aviation
  • Gain deep insights into the aviation world as well as the international start-up ecosystem
  • Work independently and entrepreneurial
  • Experience multi-faceted corporate culture with flat hierarchies in the heart of the Berlin tech ecosystem
  • Receive competitive compensation with benefits
