Your role
Reporting directly to the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs (VRAE), the Strateigic Advisor provides independent and proactive support on strategic and operational matters. Working closely with the Vice-Rector and collaborating extensively with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders, the Advisor will develop and implement strategies and initiatives to advance the University's agenda of academic and student affairs.
As a key member of the Vice-Rector's team, the Advisor contributes to enhancing innovation in teaching and learning, fostering academic and operational excellence, and championing student involvement and participation.
- Provide strategic advice and international benchmarking on initiatives, procedures, and processes related to teaching and learning, educational innovation, and student involvement
- Act as the primary liaison and trusted interlocutor between the Vice-Rector and various reporting entities (i.e., Student Department, Education Quality Office, University of Luxembourg Competence Centre, Language Centre, Cultural Affairs, Institute for Innovative Teaching and Learning), as well as the Student Delegation, Student Associations, Study Programme Representatives, Faculties, Interdisciplinary Centres, and other internal stakeholders
- Offer strategic counsel to the Vice-Rector proactively and upon request, and prepare related procedures, processes, and decision proposals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other rectorate teams, advisors, deans, vice-deans, and external stakeholders to collaboratively advance the strategic and operational excellence in academic and student affairs
- Establish, coordinate, and contribute to committees and working groups focused on academic and student affairs within and beyond the University
- Manage and contribute to the production of periodic and ad hoc reports, presentations, and publications on strategic issues within the scope of academic nd student affairs
Your profile
- A Master's degree or equivalent is mandatory; a PhD, particularly in education, management, or related disciplines, is strongly advantageous
- In-depth knowledge of the higher education sector, specifically in academic affairs (e.g., teaching and learning, programme management and development, pedagogical innovation, etc.) and student affairs
- Proven track record in project management and concept writing
- Strong ability to conceptualise, analyse, utilise, and effectively present complex data
- Demonstrated integrity, excellent judgment, diplomacy, and superior oral and written communication skills, enabling sensitive issues to be managed with respect and confidentiality
- Team-oriented, comfortable operating in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
- Proficiency in modern office software, spreadsheets, and collaborative platforms
- Excellent command of French and English; proficiency in German and / or Luxembourgish is an asset
- Open-minded, proactive, capable of multitasking, and able to work autonomously
- A welcoming and service-oriented attitude
