Overview

Senior Procurement Manager - Germany - 12-Month Contract. A global pharmaceutical company requires an experienced Procurement Manager with experience in managing complex procurement activities on major investment projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the procurement for a highly complex CAPEX project across the full project lifecycle, supporting capital/facility delivery, contract administration, and sourcing of supplies and services.
• Report to the Procurement Director.
• Commercial evaluation and advising on incoming bids (equipment, engineering suppliers).
• Drive internal contract approvals and align with stakeholders (legal, SMEs, finance).
• Act as escalation point on ongoing supplier issues.
• Support the technical SME in commercial questions.
• Proactively detect and address delays to contractual milestones; participate in project meetings to provide updates and status of documents submittals.
• Ensure updates are provided to relevant stakeholders on mitigations and improvements.
• Review status reports and initiate mitigating actions for potential risk areas.
• Visit field/suppliers regularly; align with engineering and other stakeholders for status and progress.
• Provide reporting and updates on own packages.
• Lead RFQ processes (strategy, tender, evaluations, negotiations, contracting) for client contracts.
• Maintain meticulous files and admin; manage the RFQ tool used by the project.
• Resolve problems pragmatically.

• Overall manufacturing business knowledge; demonstrated commercial skills.
• Experience delivering capital projects > $million.
• Degree level education in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain/Business-related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Fluent in English and German.
