Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Deal Leader who will be client-facing and responsible for developing and expanding strategic relationships with key clients, driving business growth, and identifying innovative consulting opportunities. The role combines sales capability with solution design, client understanding, and proactive business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, fostering long-term, trusted partnerships.
  • Leverage sales skills and deep client relationships to identify and close new business opportunities.
  • Understand client environments, challenges, and needs to propose tailored consulting solutions.
  • Identify client requirements and emerging market needs to develop new consulting propositions.
  • Analyze client projects and engagements to identify "sell-on" opportunities and potential areas for service expansion.
  • Drive the creation and positioning of innovative solutions aligned with client demands.
  • Lead the development of proposals, pricing strategies, and value-driven solution offerings.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure feasibility, scalability, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Expand the consulting footprint at client organizations, especially in high-potential areas such as Cloud Transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Asset-Infused Consulting.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of IBM’s latest consulting topics and technologies.
  • Develop and refine delivery methodologies (agile, hybrid, traditional).
  • Support adaptation of consulting practices to meet evolving client expectations and delivery models.
  • Share deep client insights with internal teams to support project success and identify growth areas.
  • Collaborate with delivery and pre-sales teams to ensure alignment between client needs and solution execution.

Your Role And Responsibilities

IBM Consulting DACH seeks a Sales Deal Leader with a strong focus on SAP S/4 and Procurement. The candidate will contribute to IBM’s success in Business Applications, expanding our Go-to-Market capabilities for SAP Procurement/Ariba and SAP SCM, with a focus on the public sector and related industries. German language skills at negotiation fluency are required.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Commercial experience in IT consulting, client relationship management, and business development.
  • Proven track record of developing and closing complex consulting deals.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, digital transformation, and innovation-driven consulting.
  • Proven skills in Cloud, AI, delivery methodology, and public sector expertise.
  • Experience with IBM technologies or consulting frameworks is a plus.
  • 6+ years of SAP sales experience with signings and revenue track record.
  • Proven ability to build client relationships and to sell SAP S/4 LoB solutions (Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Negotiation fluent in German.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

SAP S/4 Procurement (MM, Ariba, Invalua, Zycus, etc.) related offering and delivery experience.
