Responsibilities – Project Manager Permitting
Project Development & Permitting Management
  • Lead projects from the Bauleitplanung (land‑use planning phase) through all permitting stages up to approval.
  • Develop and manage permitting strategies aligned with project timelines, technical requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate all permit applications and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with national, regional, and local planning laws, environmental regulations, and technical standards.
  • Maintain proactive communication with permitting authorities, municipalities, and other regulatory stakeholders.
Coordination of External Planning Offices & Consultants
  • Select, commission, and manage external planning offices (urban planners, environmental consultants, engineering firms, legal advisors, etc.).
  • Define scopes of work and ensure quality, budget, and timeline adherence for all external deliverables.
  • Integrate output from technical, environmental, and planning consultants into coherent permitting packages.
Internal Project Interface Management
  • Act as the key internal point of contact for all planning and permitting matters.
  • Work closely with internal teams (development, grid etc.) to ensure permitting requirements are fully understood and integrated.
  • Provide clear updates on permitting progress, risks, and mitigation measures to management and project teams.
  • Support project optimisation by identifying planning‑related constraints and recommending viable solutions.
Documentation & Process Control
  • Maintain comprehensive permitting documentation, timelines, and trackers.
  • Oversee environmental impact assessments, planning studies, specialist reports, and technical drawings.
  • Ensure that all planning and permitting records remain audit‑ready and compliant with internal standards.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
  • Coordinate communication with local communities, landowners, and relevant stakeholders regarding planning and permitting topics.
  • Support public hearings, information events, and participation processes when required.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Building
  • Monitor changes in planning law, permitting regulations, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of permitting processes, templates, and internal guidelines.
  • Share lessons learned across the development team to improve future project outcomes.
