Overview

With the development of high-precision array spectrometers, colorimeters and sophisticated systems and software solutions, Munich based Instrument Systems GmbH is setting worldwide standards in the field of light measurement. Our customers include international manufacturer of LEDs, display technology and automotive accessories as well as notable testing laboratories and research institutions. We develop and manufacture measuring devices of the highest quality with about 280 employees at our company sites in Munich and Berlin. Responsibilities

• Manage technical projects focused on developing and testing customized customer solutions, gathering feedback for new products and supporting marketing activities through application notes
• Develop a deep understanding of our customers' products (e.g., OLED displays, μLEDs, VCSELs/other laser sources), on-site measurement conditions and metrology requirements (environment, takt time, etc.), as well as our full Instrument Systems product portfolio
• Propose tailored metrology solutions—including customizations where required—based on customer needs from our product portfolio
• Support sales projects by performing measurements on customer samples, analyzing results and preparing customer-facing reports and presentations
• Prototype hardware and software solutions using internal and external SDKs (Python, MATLAB, C++, or C#)
• Lead initial troubleshooting efforts through failure analysis and data analysis (e.g., log files) in collaboration with the product development teams
• Create high-quality application notes and white papers
• Support product introductions as a technical peer for customers and relay feedback from in-house or on-site demonstrations back to development teams
• Collaborate with sales, key-account management, product management, product development and international support teams (e.g., in Korea, China and Vietnam)

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or natural sciences, ideally with practical experience in programming (C/C++/C# or Python) and data analysis
• Demonstrated track record in managing technical projects
• Proven experience working directly with customers in an industrial environment (e.g., Application Engineering, Sales, Service Engineering or similar)
• Professional background in photonics, radiometry or light measurement (e.g., spectroscopy, goniophotometry, calibration standards)
• Knowledge of automation and/or the semiconductor industry is an advantage
• Strong communication and intercultural skills
• Capable of leading detailed technical discussions with international customers
• Based in Munich with willingness to travel approximately 10%
• Fluency in English
• German skills are beneficial
