Job summary

Pure Resourcing Limited is seeking a hands-on Project Manager for a large scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) project. You’ll lead delivery from office to energisation, overseeing programme, cost, risk, the EPC contract and client relationship, with the contractor onsite coordinating day-to-day activities.

The role suits you if you are technically credible, commercially aware and happy to roll up sleeves. You’ll manage FAT/SAT, testing, energisation, DNO/IDNO coordination and ensure quality,

Qualifications

• Proven PM experience on electrical infrastructure, energy, utilities or similar construction projects.
• Experience with NEC, FIDIC or similar contract administration.
• Strong electrical background with hands-on testing and commissioning (FAT/SAT).
• Solid knowledge of CDM 2015 and SMSTS or equivalent.
• Confident in challenging contractors and suppliers; comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

• Own the programme, track cost and risk, and flag issues early.
• Manage contract notices, variations and the main client relationship.
• Track long-lead equipment and manage subcontractors.
• Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning and energisation, including DNO/IDNO coordination and G99.
• Regular site oversight: check quality, verify progress and manage defects through handover.
• Lead oversight of Principal Contractor duties under CDM 2015.

Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage (BESS)

We’re recruiting a hands‑on Project Manager for a client delivering a large scale battery storage project as EPC contractor. Candidates must have experience of manging projects from ground up - ideally with grid connectivity.

You’ll lead delivery from office to energisation. That covers programme, cost and risk, the EPC contract and the client relationship, and getting the project through testing and commissioning to energisation. The contractor runs the site day to day, so you’ll also be the EPC’s eyes and ears there, holding them to account on progress, quality and safety.

It’s a small, fast‑moving team where everyone does a bit of everything, so this suits someone who is technically credible, commercially aware and happy to get stuck in.

What you’ll be doing:

• Owning the programme, tracking cost and risk, and flagging issues early
• Managing contract notices, variations and the main client relationship
• Tracking long‑lead equipment such as transformers and battery systems, and managing subcontractors
• Leading FAT, SAT, commissioning and energisation, including DNO/IDNO coordination and G99
• Regular site oversight: checking quality, verifying progress and managing defects through to handover
• Leading oversight of Principal Contractor duties under CDM 2015

What we’re looking for:

• Proven project management experience on electrical infrastructure, energy, utilities or similar construction projects

• Experience with BESS, solar, wind or other HV infrastructure; transformers and switchgear; G99 and Grid Code; C&G 2391; NEBOSH; PRINCE2 or APM.
