A higher education institution in Germany is seeking a Professor of Applied Building Physics and Building Construction to lead innovative research and teaching in sustainable construction. The role involves collaboration with industry, development of new programmes, and active participation in academic affairs. Candidates should have a strong research background, exceptional pedagogical skills, and fluency in English and German.

The main focus of the professorship is on building physics and building construction. A particular focus is on the development of building materials and structures from a physical and sustainability perspective, especially in the areas of thermal and acoustic building physics. The future holder of the position should actively further develop these professional desciplines and contribute innovative impulses to teaching and research - with a clear focus on resource-saving and sustainable construction. In order to provide our students with a practice-oriented education, your tasks will not only include teaching, but also the further development of our campus, and the development and establishment of new degree programmes and laboratories. The successful candidate must be willing to teach basic subjects at the faculty and to take on additional (teaching) duties in the faculty European Campus Rottal-Inn. Additionally, maintaining the practical relevance through industrial cooperation is expressly desired, as is the acquisition of third-party funding via existing or new research projects. We expect active involvement in administering academic affairs and in the university committees.
The future holder of these position should own in-depth knowledge of building physics requirements in the context of German and international building law in order to ensure both practice-oriented and compliant planning of sustainable building products as well as their technological and constructional development. In addition, a sound practical experience in laboratory work is expexted in order to use the well-equipped building physics laboratory specifically for research and development. Due to the international orientation of our campus, courses are expected to be held in both English andGerman. Very good written and spoken skills in both languages are required.
