The Cluster invites applications for the postdoctoral position in its project “Making Political Decisions”. The position starts on 1 September 2026 and is open for four years, with flexible start date. Reference no.: 2026/026.

The University of Konstanz is a dynamic and internationally successful research university with approximately 10 000 students. The campus promotes interdisciplinary cooperation and a sense of community among researchers, lecturers and students. Since 2006 it has been continuously funded by the German Excellence Strategy.

The cluster‑funded project “Making Political Decisions” uses experimental designs to study how elected representatives make decisions, including how they acquire and process information as well as how they take different segments of society into account. The interdisciplinary team consists of Prof. Dr. Christian Breunig (political science), Jun‑Prof. Dr. Holly Dykstra (economics), and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gaissmaier (psychology). A successful applicant will join the team and contribute to its research activities, while developing an independent research agenda is highly encouraged.

Qualifications
