Overview

As a Platform Engineer (m/f/d), you will architect, optimize, and enhance our CI/CD pipelines to fully automate build, test, deploy and release of embedded firmware, Matlab models, ground control software and AI missions to our drones. In a highly skilled team, you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of software deployment for our high-tech drones. You will work closely with stakeholders from our Embedded, AI and Ground Control teams as well as neighboring departments to streamline and optimize the software development, testing and deployment. While ensuring high code quality and lean software deployment pipelines, you will support Quantum-Systems in its mission to become the leader for aerial data collection solutions with unmanned aerial systems (sUAV).

What is your Day to Day Mission

• Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deployment, and release workflows across multiple software domains.
• Architect, provision and scale our infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Develop and integrate diverse toolchains to support data management, test automation, automated code checks (static code analysis), or drone calibration tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of new features and define continuous improvement plans.
• Introduce best practices for version control, branching strategies, and automated quality gates.
• Monitor and improve pipeline performance, ensuring minimal downtime and fast delivery cycles.
• Drive automation initiatives for hardware/software-in-the-loop testing and simulation environments.

What you bring to the team

• A successfully completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline development or working in similar role.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (like Gitlab-CI) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with build automation tools (CMake, make, etc…) and scripting languages (Python).
• In-depth knowledge of Package Management.
• In-depth knowledge of creating and maintaining Docker files and storage in on-premise docker registries.
• Experience in IT administration for Windows and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with embedded software build processes and cross-compilation.
• Experience with cloud-based CI/CD environments is a plus.
• Experience with DO-178C is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proactive, organized and a team player mindset.
• Ability to balance multiple assignments.
