Your Role
  • Shape and uphold Gen Re’s global underwriting philosophy, ensuring it reflects the latest developments in both medical and non-medical risk assessment.
  • Conduct comprehensive research in accordance with scientific standards to develop robust underwriting guidelines.
  • Drive the evolution of underwriting tools in response to increasing digitalization and automation across the application and underwriting lifecycle.
  • Continuously monitor emerging trends – such as medical advancements, regulatory shifts, and technological innovations – and assess their implications for risk selection.
  • Provide expert support to day-to-day underwriting operations, including handling client referrals and addressing complex underwriting matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with actuaries, physicians, legal experts, IT professionals, and underwriters to deliver integrated solutions.
Your Profile
  • University level education ideally in the medical field, e.g. medicine or natural sciences.
  • Alternatively, you are willing and interested in familiarizing yourself with medical topics.
  • You thrive in teamwork and enjoy contributing your own ideas to joint projects.
  • You are enthusiastic about new technologies and digital trends and are characterized by a structured and analytical approach to work.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another language, especially German, is an advantage.
