Your tasks

  • You deliver in-depth analysis of the price and fundamental development of the global commodity markets, to provide insights on future movements of price levels and spreads in the European commodity markets.
  • You closely cooperate with Trading & Origination and Portfolio functions on developing and implementing commercial strategies.
  • You provide advanced market analysis for assets or structured transactions through comprehensive scenario analysis to guide optimal Group-wide decision making.
  • You lead initiatives to build and mature a large, international energy customer portfolio as part of E.ON’s transformation program.
  • You analyze energy market data to identify high-level trading opportunities, including managing E.ON’s group portfolio (>200 TWh power & gas) through strategic hedging decisions and open position management in forward markets with a focus on long- and midterm portfolio strategies.
  • You take a leading role in the development of sophisticated trading models and strategies.
  • You prepare detailed reports on trading performance and market analysis and present these to senior stakeholders, including traders and board members.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree or comparable qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the European energy markets in commercial, analytical, or consulting role(s) including a minimum of 3 years in a senior role
  • Strong commercial mindset with a strategic and analytical way of thinking, demonstrating a high motivation to deliver significant commercial results.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to work within a highly motivated team and independently, taking on significant responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills in combination with assertiveness and engagement.
  • Embracing opportunities to learn and develop yourself through working with colleagues across all of E.ON’s operating regions
  • Knowledge in Python is a plus.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, another European language is seen as a plus.
