A global IT consulting firm in Dresden is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to join their team. We specialize in seamlessly integrating information technology with biology and the life sciences, serving as a vital conduit between IT and research. As a prominent member of the Biopolis Dresden research campus, we actively collaborate with life science companies and academic research institutions. Currently, we are looking to expand our service team in Dresden, Germany and are seeking two highly skilled Linux System Administrators to join us on a full-time, onsite basis.
Job Description
The Linux System Administrator will join our dedicated service team, providing essential IT support. Our team specializes in delivering reliable assistance and services in networking, security, storage, and Linux-based infrastructure. In collaboration with colleagues, the Linux System Administrator will contribute to various tasks based on background and skill level, including designing and configuring networks, implementing firewall and security solutions, working with scale-out storage, and providing support in virtualized environments (VMware, Proxmox, Docker). Additional responsibilities include archiving and backup, identity management (IdM), and automated configuration and update management (Ansible).
We welcome applicants from diverse IT backgrounds in system and network administration. It is not expected that candidates have experience with all listed technologies or be responsible for all tasks upon hiring. Due to our multinational clientele, we provide support in both English and German.
The team handles a diverse set of technologies, and candidates will be expected to contribute to the following tasks according to skill and experience.
Training and additional support will be available to help the candidate expand their skill set and learn more about the technology areas of interest.
