Solnet Group is growing and we are looking to add to the team

Lead Solar Engineer

As a Lead Solar Engineer you will primarily support the project delivery team. You will be responsible for developing detailed design packages that meet our customers’ needs and authority requirements across Europe. You will work both with internal members of the engineering team and external contractors to prepare plans that are customized to the site and goals of the project.

Our core offering is commonly 2-5 MW rooftop systems for our global brand key account customers, though we also work with ground mounts in the 10’s of megawatts, energy storage systems, and smart energy services.

Location: Germany

Your tasks will include

• Preparation of detailed design documents for construction
• DC and AC electrical design
• Grounding and lightning protection considerations
• PV mounting design configuration and reports, support the structural engineering needs
• Monitoring and control system design
• Energy generation simulations including import/export modeling
• Cost consideration and value engineering
• Occasional site visits to review project needs, quality control, installation contractor briefings
• Supporting the work in the field during the construction phase
• Close out of project documentation at the end of a project
• Delegating tasks and mentoring other engineers

What we are looking for

• +5 years of experience in the solar energy industry
• Education in Electrical Engineering or similar
• AutoCAD and solar-specific software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, Virto.CAD
• Experience with local codes, standards, network operator requirements
• Comfort working with remote supervision
• Contribution to developing our systems and ways of working
• Experience with DC optimizers is a plus
• English (required in all locations), Finnish, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish are of interest depending on the location
