We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager / Lead Software Engineer (m / f / d) to lead our team of engineers and drive the migration of our in-house developed webshop for medimops (our platform for buying second‑hand books and media) to Shopify . In this role youll shape the technical direction ensure high-quality implementation and foster a strong engineering culture in a dynamic impact-driven environment.

Your mission

Lead and develop a group of up to 10 software engineers both professionally and disciplinarily

Lead the replatforming of our medimops webshop to Shopify ensuring maintainability and extendability of all customizations

Contribute hands‑on to the design and implementation of the new platform with focus on performance resilience and great user experience

Lead towards a new era of our medimops shop in close collaboration with product teams tech leads and POs ensuring alignment across cross‑functional teams

Drive the technical vision and strategy together with other tech leads

Foster a culture of ownership c ollaboration and self-org anization within and across teams

Continuously improve our CI / CD pipelines and development processes

Your profile

Hands‑on experience with the Shopify Plus ecosystem including :

Liquid templating and Remix app development

Building and integrating custom Shopify apps and webhooks

Resilient consumption error handling and monitoring of external integrations

Solid knowledge of frontend technologies like React Remix and Typescript

Proven leadership experience with engineering teams in agile environments including disciplinary responsibility

Experience in building and maintaining large‑scale high‑traffic platforms with strong uptime requirements

Enthusiasm for building reliable scalable systems that combine strong engineering with great user experience

Strong communication and business fluent English language skills (German is a plus)

Nice to have

Familiarity with end‑to‑end testing using frameworks like Playwright

Understanding of modern frontend performance observability and monitoring best practices

Experience with Typescript Python and MySQL or PostgreSQL

Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Experience applying Domain‑Driven Design (DDD) and Clean Architecture principles to keep complex systems maintainable
