Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of frontend applications, dashboards, and backend services.
• Ensure seamless integration of data from various sources, collaborating with analytics teams for optimal data presentation.
• Develop responsive web and mobile designs that align with UX/UI best practices.
• Manage and optimise backend services, APIs, and serverless environments using Python frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
• Lead daily standups, plan sprints, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Support team members in resolving technical challenges and improving coding standards.
• Foster a collaborative environment that embraces change and innovation.

Data Management

• Maintain data security and compliance with privacy laws and organisational policies.
• Ensure data accuracy and relevance in all applications.

Operational Excellence

• Establish and uphold development processes, including GitHub workflows and code review standards.
• Monitor and optimise performance to ensure production readiness of web applications.
• Keep detailed documentation of workflows and development processes.

Key Requirements

Frontend Skills

• Experience in building responsive designs for web dashboards and mobile applications.
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
• Advanced Python skills, especially for web development (Flask, FastAPI) and API creation.
• Proficiency in serverless environments (AWS Lambda, AWS Amplify) and Linux VM deployments.
• Strong database knowledge, including SQL, Postgres, and TimeScaleDB.

Leadership

• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and standups.
• Skilled in mentoring team members and conducting effective code reviews.

Additional Skills

• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and data engineering principles.
• Experience with tools like AWS, GitHub Actions, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of blockchain development (Solidity) and data analytics platforms like Databricks is a plus.
