A prominent dining establishment in Berlin seeks a Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, lead a passionate team, and ensure adherence to hygiene standards. The ideal candidate has significant leadership experience and is fluent in German and English. Responsibility for the entire kitchen operation and daily organization of the kitchen team
Leading, motivating, and developing the team (chefs, kitchen assistants, dishwashers, etc.)
Planning duty and vacation schedules, training, and performance evaluations
Co-creating creative, seasonal menus in collaboration with our kitchen team
Calculating dishes with consideration for food costs and budgeting
Ensuring quality in the preparation and presentation of our dishes
Implementing and adhering to hygiene and safety standards (HACCP)
Working closely with purchasing: inventory management, ordering, and goods inspection
Coordinating maintenance and upkeep of kitchen equipment
Several years of experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or in a similar leadership role
A passion for great food, strong organizational skills, and leadership ability
You stay calm under pressure and aren’t afraid to get hands-on when needed
Solid knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and personnel leadership
Strong understanding of hygiene regulations and food safety (HACCP)
You work in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented way
Team player with open communication style towards colleagues, suppliers & management
You communicate confidently in both German and English
