Overview

Do you want to help create the future of healthcare? Siemens Healthineers invites you to join our global team as Head of Global Travel Management (f/m/d) to establish and govern a robust travel and expense program that ensures compliance and efficiency while shaping service excellence and a positive employee experience for all business travel worldwide. This includes owning travel policy compliance and administration, updating global and local travel policies, coordinating with key stakeholders, and managing the service relationship currently provided by the parent company’s shared services.

Through management of a cross-functional executive committee, this role will be responsible for strategic service governance guiding delivery models across geographies to ensure consistency, scalability and compliance, and will have global oversight of internal service delivery as well as the strategic renewal management and executive relationship management for internal partners.

Choose the best place for your work – within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours. Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.

Your tasks and responsibilities include travel management and service delivery across global travel governance, policy, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration.

Travel Management:

  • Assuming travel governance and compliance leadership as well as the global process ownership for end-to-end Global Travel & Expense management
  • Lead and coordinate the update of local country travel policies to meet business needs, legal requirements and best practices
  • Lead implementation of compliance controls and promote awareness and training for HR, management and employees
  • Oversee the administration of business travel and expense processes and initiate efficiency projects and the setup of standard operating procedures for travel administration
  • Lead the global E2E Travel Committee for cross-functional coordination of travel-related topics
  • Manage and optimize internal and external service providers in the travel ecosystem and evaluate options for outsourcing vs insourcing
  • Drive operational efficiencies and improvement projects, especially to modernize the travel IT setup and architecture with IT, Procurement and other functions
  • Work with cross-functional partners to integrate travel management with Corporate Security, Global Mobility, Procurement, Finance and IT
  • Set up analytics and reporting for travel management including travel spend, behaviors and trends; prepare reports for Company leadership with cost optimization proposals

Service Delivery:

  • Executive Relationship Management: lead the cross-functional executive committee to manage global oversight of internal service delivery and coordination with internal service providers (GBS)
  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvements: drive optimization projects across service lines
  • Strategic Service Governance: develop and support service strategies based on market insights and business requirements
  • Contract Lifecycle & Vendor Management: oversee global service contract lifecycle and timely renewals in alignment with goals and regulations
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: serve as strategic interface to internal/external experts and act as escalation point for resolving complex service-related disputes

Your qualifications and experience
  • You have a university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • You have many years of experience in global travel, mobility and/or within a shared service organization (ideally in a large matrix organization or consultancy)
  • You have demonstrated leadership capabilities at an executive level
  • You have profound experience in managing internal and external travel and mobility partnerships
  • You have proven transformation and change management experience
  • You are experienced with relevant tools and technologies

  • You are fluent in English and German; other languages are an asset
  • You possess analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills
