Zusammenfassung

A specialized aerospace company in Hamburg is seeking a Department Manager for Design & Modification. You will lead the team in developing cabin products and managing projects, requiring a strong background in aerospace engineering and project management. Candidates should have a degree in aerospace engineering, extensive experience in the industry, and knowledge of the EASA certification process.

Your mission
  • Management of the Design & Modification department including budget and cost center responsibility
    Disciplinary and technical management of employees
  • Development of new products in the cabin area. Independent coordination and management of all issues relating to purchasing, partner search, patent application and testing
  • Creation and/or verification of installation and verification documents including assessments, calculations and test plans/reports in accordance with applicable aviation regulations
  • Processing of customer enquiries
  • Evaluating the feasibility of customer inquiries with regard to implementation and certification / approval
  • Technical research and preparation of quotations as part of certification projects
  • Coordination of interior modifications and production with our own Part 21G production organization/145 maintenance organization

Your profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. A doctorate (Dr./Ph.D.) is desirable
  • Extensive experience in aerospace engineering with a proven track record of managing and executing complex projects
  • Extensive technical expertise in areas such as aerodynamics, propulsion, structures or avionics.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, practices and industry standards
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement long-term engineering strategies
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision‑making skills with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement
  • Good knowledge of the EASA certification process
  • Good command of English, especially aeronautical English
  • Good knowledge in the use of MS Office
  • Initiative as well as analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Structured and goal‑oriented way of working
  • Driving license (min. cat. B)
