Role & Responsibilities

As part of our finance team, you will:

• Support the Accounting Manager Germany, responsible for day-to-day finance operations including Accounts Payable & Receivable, General Ledger, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, local GAAP, Corporate Policies & SOPs, and Tax Filings


• Partner with four colleagues handling AP, AR, daily payments, intercompany confirmations, reconciliations, and settlements


• Contribute to timely and accurate monthly financial closing in line with corporate deadlines, including profitability and variance analysis and financial reporting packages


• Ensure account reconciliations are up to date and support the preparation and filing of statutory accounts for the German legal entity in collaboration with auditors and advisors


• Support treasury functions, including cash flow planning, cash management, and accounts receivable / credit control


• Collaborate with other Morrison Express accounting teams to ensure correct margin allocation on client sales within the group


• Liaise with local government agencies, banks, solicitors, company secretaries, and suppliers on financial and administrative matters


• Act as a backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members when required

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in operational finance, including monthly closing, reporting, and account reconciliations


• Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy


• Fluent German and English, written and spoken


• A true team player, eager to learn and proactive


• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel


• Experience with ERP / accounting systems, including hands-on general ledger work and understanding of AP/AR processes


• Knowledge of German accounting, VAT, tax, and/or payroll compliance is a strong plus
