As a Frontend Software Engineer at Zalando Payments, you will plan, develop, test, and operate our core UX that allows our customers to pay in a secure and engaging fashion. Fashion retail imposes many interesting challenges on the payment experience that we address through tailored deferred payment options and other products. The experiences you will build in this role connect our customers to our APIs to enable their efficient and secure payment. Responsibilities include:

1. Developing and maintaining high-quality, responsive, and scalable frontend systems for our customer-facing web applications, primarily using React and TypeScript.
2. Writing clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code that can be easily understood, evolved, and scaled.
3. Collaborating effectively with product managers to refine requirements and with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes into user-friendly interfaces.
4. Working closely with backend engineers to design and integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL services, ensuring seamless data flow and performance.
5. Participating in the entire product development lifecycle, taking ownership of features and their impact.
6. Championing best practices, participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
7. Identifying and solving complex technical challenges with a customer-centric approach.
