To strengthen our rare & epilepsy team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position Ecosystem Lead Rare Diseases South Germany, based in Germany.

About the role

The Ecosystem Lead Rare South is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the southern German ecosystem, focusing on rare diseases. This includes managing a team of Regional Rare Disease Leads, implementing the Patient Impact Strategy, and ensuring growth, access and sustainable performance of the rare disease product portfolio. The role is based in Germany and operates regionally.

Who you’ll work with
  • The southern German sales team
  • Internal stakeholders like Medical Affairs Strategy Lead, Learning & Development, Digital team, Market Access teams
  • Customer‑facing teams: Sales Representatives, MSLs, Payers Partners
  • External stakeholders: Caregivers, hospitals, referral centres, centres of excellence
What you’ll do
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop the southern German sales team to build a high‑performing team
  • Achieve revenue and sales targets, grow the product portfolio, and contribute to new product launches
  • Manage annual operating expenses and regional sales, contribute to forecasts and incentive schemes
  • Co‑create regional strategic plans and support gap analysis and account planning
  • Plan and monitor field activities, drive agile and digital transformation (including AI, advanced analytics, digital assistants)
  • Foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through field visits, congresses, and training
  • Monitor KPIs, competitor activities and maintain competitive intelligence

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D., Law (J.D.) or Medical Degree (M.D.)
  • Certificate as Pharmaceutical Sales Rep and/or university degree in business administration, pharmacy or natural sciences (§ 75 AMG)
  • Minimum 5 years of field leadership experience and minimum 5 years of rare disease experience
  • Experienced in coaching and training sales colleagues
  • Deep knowledge of the German pharmaceutical market
  • Product launch experience
  • Fluent in English
