A fast-growing SaaS software company based in Berlin is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead and scale its engineering organization. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of technology strategy, delivery, and team performance across the business.

Opportunity

As CTO, you will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering function, partnering closely with the executive team to drive product innovation, platform scalability, and operational excellence. You will play a critical role in shaping the company's technical vision as it scales its product, customer base, and teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the company's technology and engineering strategy in line with business goals
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing engineering organization (backend, frontend, infrastructure, QA, and DevOps)
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and planning to delivery and maintenance
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, security, and performance as the business grows
• Drive best practices in engineering processes, tooling, and culture
• Collaborate closely with Product, Commercial, and Operations leadership
• Manage technical debt and make pragmatic build vs. buy decisions
• Represent engineering at board and executive level discussions
